I'm James Whitfield, a Georgia-commissioned notary public and NNA Certified Signing Agent operating under the banner of Whitfield Notary & Signing since 2015. Over the past decade I've completed thousands of loan signings and document notarizations across Metro Atlanta for some of the region's top title companies and law firms.
I completed the Loan Signing System training program and hold active NNA certification with a current background screen on file. I believe in thorough preparation - I review every loan package before arriving so that the borrower experience is smooth, clear, and efficient.
When I'm not at a closing table, I work with small business owners and individuals who need reliable, discreet notary support for everything from corporate minutes to estate planning documents.
My primary specialty. I handle purchase, refinance, HELOC, home equity loan, and reverse mortgage signings for title companies, escrow firms, and lenders across Metro Atlanta. Every package is reviewed in advance and I arrive prepared to answer borrower questions about the process.

Notarization of wills, trusts, durable power of attorney, advance directives, and other legal instruments. I work with attorneys and families throughout the signing process and can travel to hospitals and care facilities.
Corporate resolutions, LLC operating agreements, contracts, UCC filings, and other business documents. I work with small businesses and law firms throughout Atlanta on a regular and on-call basis.
I come to your home, office, closing table, hospital, or any Metro Atlanta location. Same-day and next-business-day availability for most areas.
Whitfield Notary & Signing serves the full Metro Atlanta area, including Atlanta, Buckhead, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Marietta, Smyrna, Alpharetta, Roswell, and Dunwoody. I maintain a Midtown Atlanta office for in-person appointments and travel throughout the metro for mobile signings.
For clients in outlying suburbs - Lawrenceville, Duluth, Peachtree City, Newnan, and beyond - extended travel appointments are available with advance booking.
Georgia state law sets the maximum notary fee at $2 per notarial act. My service fees reflect professional preparation, travel, and availability:
Cash, check, Zelle, and Venmo accepted. Law firms billed via invoice (net 15).
Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Sunday: Closed
I prioritize reliability above all - if I confirm an appointment, I will be there. For urgent same-day requests, call or text directly. For loan signings, I prefer 24 hours notice to review the package in advance.

Yes. I regularly serve ITP Atlanta, Buckhead, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Marietta, Alpharetta, Roswell, and Dunwoody. For outlying areas like Lawrenceville, Peachtree City, or Newnan, please book at least 48 hours in advance.
Saturday appointments are available from 9 AM to 3 PM. Sunday appointments are not offered. For urgent Saturday needs, call or text rather than booking online.
Not at this time - I specialize in in-person signings. If you need a remote online notarization, I am happy to point you to a trusted RON provider.
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID for every signer. Your lender or title company will let you know if a certified check or cashier's check is required. I will have all other documents prepared and organized when I arrive.
